[3/09/16] Community Response To Unfair Student Conduct Hearings – #UAlbanyBusIncident #DefendBlackGirlsUAlbany

It’s time to turn up.

SUNY Albany has brought Student Conduct proceedings AND criminal proceedings against the three Black women involved in the UAlbany Bus Incident. The aggressive nature in which the university has pursued these charges—both on campus and in criminal court—is stripping these students of their right to fairly and adequately defend themselves.  As such, the community has a responsability to respond accordingly.

Wednesday, at 9:30am, citizens will converge on the Student Conduct Hearing being held at Liberty Terrace Apartments of SUNY Albany (East Side of Campus, Behind Indian Quad facing Indian Pond; Walking distance to Western Avenue. See map below. 1st floor, Large Conference Room).

How can you help?
1) Attend demonstration
2) Invite people to our Facebook event
3) Share via email, social media, and word of mouth
4) Offer transportation

More details to come.

Read our open letter to the three students here.
